EPCM · Commercial & Industrial

Your roof is an asset.
We engineer it like one.

Re Green Energy designs, procures and project-manages commercial and industrial solar PV and battery storage across South Africa, from 50 kWp to 500 kWp+. You own the system outright. We carry the engineering, the compliance and the accountability.

What we do

Four disciplines, one accountable contract

From the first look at a billing history through to a commissioned, monitored, compliant system — and the years of operation after it.

01

Commercial & Industrial Solar PV

Grid-tied and hybrid systems from 50 kWp to 500 kWp+, for retail, hospitality, agri-processing and light industrial sites.

  • Helioscope yield modelling and shading analysis
  • DC:AC optimisation against the measured load profile
  • Structural, roof-penetration and cable-route design
  • SSEG, NRS 097-2-1 and SANS 10142-1 compliance
  • Commissioning, CoC and handover documentation
02

Battery Energy Storage

Storage integrated with the array to shift load off expensive tariff periods, shave peak demand and hold the site up when the grid drops.

  • Modular high-voltage systems, scaled to the site
  • Time-of-use arbitrage modelled on your actual tariff
  • Sizing validated against worst-case daily peak kWh at 80% DoD
  • Peak demand (kVA) reduction and backup configurations
03

Operations & Maintenance

A commissioned system is the start of the contract, not the end of it. The first year is included on every project.

  • Remote performance monitoring and fault detection
  • Scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning
  • Monthly generation and savings reporting
  • Warranty administration with suppliers
04

Energy Audits & Consulting

The engineering that happens before anyone quotes hardware. Most of the value in a C&I system is decided here.

  • Billing reconstruction and synthetic hourly load modelling
  • Metered load logging and load-factor analysis
  • Tariff analysis — Eskom and municipal, TOU and flat
  • Financial underwriting: IRR, NPV, payback, sensitivity
The EPCM model

One contract. Specialists behind it.

We hold the engineering, the procurement and the programme. Accredited specialists execute. You sign once and hold one party accountable.

Re Green Energy

Design and yield modelling, financial underwriting, equipment specification and procurement, programme management, commissioning, handover and O&M.

If you are buying a system

  • One point of accountability, feasibility to commissioning.
  • Designed around your measured load profile, not your roof area.
  • Full compliance pack on handover — CoC, SSEG approval, as-builts, warranties, H&S file.

If you are financing one

  • Project-specific Contractors All Risk cover, arranged per site.
  • Registered electrical contractor with a chief inspector of record.
  • Independent underwriting per project — IRR, NPV, DSCR and sensitivity, not a savings brochure.
  • Company profile, insurance certificates and references on request.

Equipment standards

Specified per project against the load profile.

Inverters
Commercial-grade power conversion, typically 100–125 kW per unit, grid-tied or hybrid
Storage
Modular high-voltage BESS, sized in blocks from roughly 100 kWh upward
Modules
Tier 1 bankable panels, current-generation high-wattage
Monitoring
Remote performance monitoring with fault detection
How a project runs

Five phases, then we stay on

One programme from first call to commissioned system — and a relationship that does not end at handover.

01

Energy audit

Twelve months of bills become an hourly load profile.

02

Design & underwriting

System sized and modelled. You see the IRR before you commit.

03

Approvals

SSEG application, utility sign-off, H&S file.

04

Installation

Accredited electrical team, supervised to programme.

05

Commissioning

Testing, CoC, as-builts and handover pack.

After handover

First year of O&M included

Monitoring, preventative maintenance and monthly performance reporting for twelve months, at no additional cost. Most contractors hand over and leave.

12-month workmanship guarantee

Our installation is guaranteed for a full year, over and above the manufacturer warranties on the equipment itself.

Feasibility estimator

What would solar actually do for your site?

A first-order estimate built on the same conservative assumptions we use in our own underwriting models. It is indicative — a real number needs your billing history and a load profile — but it is honest about what a system this size does.

Your site

Use figures excluding VAT if you are VAT-registered.

R
Twelve-month average, excluding VAT.
R
Rand per kWh, excluding VAT. Total bill ÷ total units.
Solar only offsets what you use while the sun is up. This is the single biggest driver of system size.
Sets the annual yield assumption in kWh per kWp.

Payback

Indicative only. Assumes full self-consumption of generation with no export credit, and excludes any battery storage. We produce a modelled figure from your actual billing data at no cost.

Funding routes

Three ways to get the system built

The engineering does not change. Only who holds the asset on their balance sheet does.

Route 01 · Most common

Cash purchase

You buy the system outright. It is your asset from commissioning, and every rand it saves is yours.

  • Section 12B allows a 100% write-off of the capital cost in year one
  • Best lifetime return of the three routes
  • No counterparty, no long-term contract
Payable against milestones through construction
Route 02

Your own bank finance

You fund the purchase through your existing bank or asset finance facility. We supply everything the credit team asks for.

  • Independent financial underwriting pack per project
  • Company profile, insurance and compliance documentation
  • Structured so instalments can be set against projected savings
We deal with your credit team directly
Route 03 · Zero capital

Power Purchase Agreement

Where a site would rather not spend capital, the project can be structured as a PPA through an independent power producer. The IPP funds, owns and maintains the system; you buy the electricity it makes at a rate below your utility tariff.

  • No capital outlay and no maintenance liability
  • Long-term contracted rate, typically 20 years
  • Option to purchase the asset during or at end of term
Delivered with Evkom Energy, our IPP partner
